COVID-19 Reporting- Updated 10-17-2020 COVID-19 Symptoms

Dear Tiger Families,
Springfield Local is committed to the safety and health of our students and staff. Friday night We were informed of another confirmed case of COVID-19 in a staff member at Springfield Intermediate. This case is not connected to the first case.


Free Meals Extended for the Rest of the School Year Informational chart on school meals

The non-profit School Nutrition Association (SNA) applauded the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Congress for their work to extend all Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Option (SSO) waivers through the end of the 2020/2021 school year. SNA members called for these vital extensions to ease challenges of school meal service during the pandemic and ensure all hungry students can be nourished by school meals.

WYTV's Pledge of Allegiance Will Feature Springfield Students SLES students wearing patriotic colors for the Pledge of Allegiance

WYTV’s Pledge of Allegiance segment will feature students from Springfield Local Elementary School.  Videos of classes reciting the Pledge of Allegiance were recorded and submitted to WYTV, which will air the segments on the dates listed below from 6:30-7 a.m. The recordings will also be featured on after airing during the morning news. In order to maintain social distance, some classes did multiple recordings.

A Springfield Intermediate student is doing her part to help those in need.



Unity Day

The Springfield Local School District is taking part in Unity Day, which is October 21. 

The day is about taking a stand against bullying and focusing on kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Students and staff can show unity by wearing orange on October 21.



Virtual Financial Aid Night

Springfield Local High School and the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at Youngstown State University will be hosting our annual Financial Aid Night virtually this year. You do NOT have to be planning to attend YSU in order to attend this informational meeting.
